ILOILO – The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president of San Miguel town.
Mikhail “Khalil” Tadifa, 24, was caught through the strength of a search warrant served at his father-in-law’s house in Barangay 11, San Miguel in the morning of Sept. 30.
The police, led by Police Major Jess Baylon, CIDG Iloilo City chief, also recovered a grenade, a .45 caliber pistol, bullets, suspected shabu residue and suspected drug paraphernalia, holsters, and some unused firearms.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to retrieve the grenade that was inside a sling bag in the kitchen.
“We served the warrant of arrest by virtue of the search warrant issued by the court. According kay judge nga nagsugo sa amon to implement the search warrant, we are looking for a .38 caliber revolver, one .45 caliber pistol, and one 12-gauge shotgun. If we recover these sa iya nga premises, after our search, magamit ini batok sa iya and immediately make the arrest,” Baylon said.
Tadifa is facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act); and RA 9516 (illegal possession and manufacture of explosives).
It can be recalled that Tadifa was also a suspect in the shooting of 30-year-old Dyezrelle Malaygay at his house in Barangay San Jose, San Miguel on Aug. 13, 2022. The shooting incident was believed to have ensued from a heated exchange between the two on social media.
Tadifa also became controversial in the year 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic./PN
