San Remigio farmer yields shotguns, ammos

SAN REMIGIO, Antique – Policemen recovered firearms and ammunitions from a farmer’s house during a raid on May 23 in Barangay Magdalena here.

The team lead by Police Captain Geremy Ian Magbanua arrested the subject of the search warrant, Edwin Santosildes, 62.

The following were recovered from the house:

* five 12-gauge homemade shotguns

* airgun

* 12-gauge ammunition

The house search was witnessed by village officials.

The search warrant was issued by Executive Judge Ernesto L. Abijay Jr. of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 10 (San Jose, Antique).

The recovered items were taken to the town’s police station.

The suspect faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
