ANTIQUE – Barangay Osorio II in San Remigio town received from the municipal government a P2.7-million new evacuation center.
The turnover to the barangay council of Osorio II was held on July 6.
According to Mayor Mar Mission Jr., the evacuation center should be able to shelter distressed residents of the barangay in times of calamities.
Construction started in January this year.
Barangay Captain Nexson Tacaisan said the evacuation center, when not in use, may also be a safe venue for barangay activities.
Mission thanked the provincial government under Gov. Rhodora Cadiao and then Antique congresswoman Loren Legarda (now senator) for helping construct the evacuation center./PN
