SANTA Clarita International School Primes is set to hold a three-day open tryout for its elementary and secondary boys team in preparation for the upcoming basketball season.

Primes head coach Rodel Camacho said that the tryouts were slated on March 30 and on April 7 and 8 (starting at eight in the morning) at the school’s campus in Puerto Real Lapaz, Iloilo City.

Camacho added that among their preferences were those born from 2007 and up for the elementary team and born from 2002 and up for the secondary squad.

Santa Clarita, a many-time champion in local basketball tournaments and previously represented Western Visayas in Palarong Pambansa, was the source of now Far Eastern University Baby Tamaraws standouts John Bryan Sajonia and Mark Jimenez.

Primes’ current key players Ralph Bajon, Wilmer Dalumpines and Franc Steven Tono have also attracted Manila-based schools following their impressive showing in the National Basketball Training Center National Finals recently.

The Primes, which represented the Western Visayas in the week-long competition, have won two of its three matches in indoor basketball and have also placed runner-up in the 3×3 basketball side events./PN
