
MANILA – Veterans Stephan Schrock and Amani Aguinaldo will banner the Philippine men’s football team when it start its campaign in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games against Cambodia today at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Aside from Schrock, other midfielders of the team are Ceres-Negros FC teammate Dylan de Bruycker, Christian Rontini, Yrik Gallantes, Pocholo Bugas, Jerome Marzan, Griffin McDaniel, Troy Limbo, and Dennis Chung.
Other defenders for the national team, aside from Aguinaldo, are Justin Baas, Elias Edison Suerti Mordal, Mar Diano, Jordan Jarvis, and Marco Casambre.
Completing the Azkals team are goal keepers Anthony Pinthus and Michael Asong and forwards Chima Uzoka, Jarvey Gayoso and Mariano Suba Jr.
On the national team’s reserves are AJ Arcilla, Poi Saldivar, Ivan Ouano, JB Borlongan, Dean Ebarle, Jovan Marfiga, and Fritz Brigoli.
After the Cambodia match, the Azkals will next face Myanmar and Malaysia on Nov. 27 and Nov. 29 at the same venue before closing the elimination on Dec. 4 against Timor Leste at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna.
The Azkals are hoping to do better in this year’s SEA Games after failing to reach the semifinals round in the 2017 edition held in Singapore./PN
