MANILA – Ceres-Negros FC midfielder Stephan Schrock is being considered to reinforce the Philippines’ U-22 men’s football team that will compete in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games starting Nov. 26 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

The Filipino German Schrock has made his intention known to become one of the two over-aged players of the national men’s football team, which is hoping to land at least a semifinals stint.

“Schrock has expressed interest to be part of the U-22 team as an over-aged player,” Philippine Azkals team manager Dan Palami said in an interview.

Each team is allowed to tap a maximum of two over-aged players for the tournament which will commence before the formal start of the biennial meet on Nov. 30 at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Serbian mentor Goran Milojevic will serve as head coach with help from Azkals coach Scott Cooper.

The national U-22 squad is currently playing in the Philippines Football League – Copa Paulino Alcantara where they have three points on one victory and a defeat./PN
