The 2022 Visayas Regional Scientific Meeting (RSM) on April 28-29, 2022 intends to highlight the foresight document PAGTANAW 2050 which aims to harness science and technology as tools towards innovations in the next 30 years.
This year’s Visayas RSM is guided by the theme, PAGTANAW 2050: Agham Tungo sa Mabuting Kinabukasan. It aims to present the PAGTANAW 2050 Foresight document, identify challenges of the region in line with the vision of PAGTANAW 2050, increase the capacity of the regions on foresight focused on science, technology, and innovation (STI) talent development and retention, and develop regional strategic action plans towards a blue and circular economy.
Emphasized by the National Academy of Science Technology Philippines (NAST PHL) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Visayas Cluster as organizers of the activity, PAGTANAW 2050 is the first inter- and trans-disciplinal Philippine-focused STI foresight to harness science and technology as tools towards innovations in products, processes, and organizations. Its main goal is to chart a strategic path by anticipating the factors that will influence the development of the Philippines’ scientific and technological capital in the next 30 years.
The Visayas RSM will be held virtually with the Opening Program on April 28. It will cover the following activities: (1) Launching of the scientific poster session to be led by NAST Director, Ms. Luningning E. It will be the last RSM to be conducted as the Luzon RSM is scheduled on March 29-30 and the Mindanao RSM is scheduled on April 5-6, 2022. The three (3) RSMs pave the path to the conduct of the 44th Annual Scientific Meeting on July 13-14, 2022 chaired by NAST PHL Vice President Acd. Fabian M. Dayrit./PN
