KALIBO, Aklan – The Provincial Tourism Office was looking for tourism front-liners who “exemplify delightful service” and “the distinct Filipino brand of genuine warmth and hospitality.”
The “Dungog” award is open to all individuals who embody admirable customer service and dedication, going extra mile in the service of tourists while in destinations in Aklan.
They may be travel agencies, tour operators, tour guides, tourist transport, accommodation establishments, and individual service providers, according to Provincial Tourism Officer Roselle Ruiz.
Potential Dungog tourism front-liners may be waiters; drivers of taxis, tricycles or buses; porters; tour guides; boatmen; hotel staffers; land and sea transport, among others.
Five Dungog awardees will receive a plaque of recognition and P5,000 cash each during a ceremony on Sept. 21 in time for the Aklan Tourism Week.
Nominations may be submitted on or before Sept. 8 in the Provincial Tourism Office at the Aklan provincial capitol.
Anchored on this year’s Tourism Week (Sept. 20-23) theme “Sustainable Tourism: A Tool to Development,” Dungog celebrates the contribution of many front-liners and individuals to Aklan’s tourism industry. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
