ILOILO City – Police were looking into a possible extramarital affair in the fatal shooting of a security guard in Molo district.
Jeovaney Puzon was supposed to meet with a female text pal before he was killed, initial investigation showed.
A married resident of Barangay Baje, Leon, Iloilo, Puzon was detailed in a mall in City Proper, a police report stated.
He was taken to the Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He sustained a gunshot wound on the right side of the body.
Puzon parked his motorcycle along the road in Barangay Calumpang, Molo at 10:37 p.m. on Monday and waited for his text pal.
Minutes later a man approached and fired at him, and ran toward the inner streets of the village, police said.
While still trying to identify the suspect as of this writing, investigators were inclined to believe he was related to the supposed text pal of the security guard, possibly a lover or a husband./PN
