BACOLOD City – A security guard and a tricycle driver shot each other in front of a store at Capitol Shopping Center in Barangay Villamonte.
Jose Postrana and Jerry Nemenzo were confined in separate hospitals, a Police Station 4 report showed.
Postrana, a 58-year-old guard under the JRY Security Agency detailed at the Bacolod Freedom Enterprises and a resident of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, and Nemenzo, 49, of Barangay Villamonte were friends, investigation showed.
An altercation ensued between them at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday when Postrana asked Nemenzo not to park in front of the store.
Nemenzo challenged Postrana to a gunfight, police said, citing witnesses.
The tricycle driver fired first, prompting the security guard to fire back, investigators further learned from witnesses.
Postrana sustained gunshot wounds on the body. He was confined in The Doctors’ Hospital as of this writing.
Nemenzo, on the other hand, sustained a gunshot wound on the head. He was taken to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital./PN
