BACOLOD City – A security guard was found dead in Reclamation Area in Barangay 2 on Christmas Day.
Pijie Escalante of Barangay Cabacungan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental was believed to have committed suicide, a police report showed.
Escalante’s body was discovered hanging from a bamboo pole with a sack tied around his neck around 7 a.m., the report added.
The victim has been allegedly drunk since Dec. 24 and had a heated argument with his live-in partner.
Officers of Police Station 2 were still investigating as of this writing what could have triggered Escalante to end his life.
They have yet to rule out foul play in the incident as well./PN
