ILOILO – The Senate is being urged to conduct an inquiry in aid of legislation on the defective P680-million Ungka flyover in Barangay Ungka II, Pavia town.
The Pavia Sangguniang Bayan (SB) members unanimously approved a resolution on this yesterday authored by SB member Jose Maria “Pyt” Trimañez, chairman of the SB committee on transportation.
“Kinahanglan tagaan sang madasig nga aksyon ining Ungka flyover because kanugon sang P680 million and ang safety sang taga-Pavia ang aton gina-ulikdan nga kon padayun nga mag-usmod ang flyover kag padayun man nga masunod ang pacing, in the next seven months almost four rulers ang pag-usmod sang sini nga piers,” he said in an interview with Panay News yesterday.
The SB member called on the Department of Public Works and Highways to shed light on what happened, the project design and who made it, who had the obligation to supervise the construction, who has the liability and which engineering intervention among the three suggested will be applied.
“Magpanawagan kita sa mga congressmen and congresswomen naton nga diri naka-base sa probinsya sang Iloilo kag syudad sang Iloilo nga suportahan kag updan nila si Cong. Raoul Manuel, Cong. Michael Gorriceta kag Cong. Lorenz Defensor nga matagaan pagtamod ang ini nga dako nga problem sang Ungka kag Aganan flyovers sa ila mga kaupod nga mga congressman sa Kongreso,” read part of the privilege speech of Trimañez./PN
