MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has submitted to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee the subpoenaed digital records of principal pork barrel scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.
The “crypted” and “sealed” Luy files were compressed in a disc.
Also, it has a signature of Special Investigator Joel Narciso.
The NBI said they ensured the authenticity of the files.
Sen. Teofisto “TG” Guingona III, chair of the Blue Ribbon Committee, said yesterday they will reproduce copies for all senators and the media “in the spirit of transparency and openness.”
Guingona said that if printed, Luy’s files, containing more than 31,700 pages, will “fill the whole room.”
Asked if the committee will re-open the pork barrel scam probe since Luy and suspected scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles already provided the Senate with the needed documents, Guingona said they are still in the process of collecting data.
“We will collate it, evaluate it, analyze it and after that we will consult with the other members of the committee as to how we go about it. And, we will call a hearing,” the senator said.
He also said there is no need to subpoena the files allegedly provided by Luy’s parents to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
“What is there (referring to the files submitted to them by the NBI) is sufficient. I don’t think there is a need to compare,” Guingona stressed./PN
