ANTIQUE – A senior citizen was fatally shot on the morning of April 20 while riding a tricycle in Igbobon, Patnongon town.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m.
The victim, 63-year-old Romero Daguman, was a resident of Barangay Igbarawan, Patnongon. He was riding a tricycle when an assailant approached and opened fire, according to Police Captain Ryan Valenzuela, the officer-in-charge of the Patnongon municipal police station.
Daguman sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and died at the scene.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing four to five gunshots during the attack.
Items belonging to the victim, including a gallon, a duffel bag, and tools for road construction, were found scattered around the scene.
Police are currently reviewing security camera footage from the vicinity as part of their investigation.
A person of interest has been identified and is under investigation by the Patnongon police./PN
