ILOILO – A senior citizen was found deceased in her home in Sitio Moda, Barangay Lapayon, Leganes town yesterday, October 24.
The body of Josefina Gordon, 80, was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition early in the morning, according to the Leganes Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Police were alerted to the situation at 9:35 a.m. by Barangay Tanod Roberto Gailan, who was sent to check on Gordon after a tree fell on her house amid severe weather conditions.
Upon arrival, Gailan found that Gordon had already died.
Police Captain General Enrique Robles, police chief of Leganes, indicated that Gordon likely passed away several days prior to the incident due to natural causes related to her old age and existing health issues.
The family of the deceased has been notified, and authorities are further investigating to confirm the exact circumstances of her death./PN
