BACOLOD City – A senior citizen was hacked to death in Barangay Abaca, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
Police identified him as 70-year-old resident Conelio Tapil. He sustained hack wounds on the neck, a police report showed.
The 41-year-old resident Jolan Fajardo was tagged suspect.
According to police investigators, Tapil was standing outside his house when Fajardo, who was under the influence of liquor, hacked the victim using a bolo for no apparent reason.
The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on March 21, it added.
Fajardo was detained in the lockup cell of the Cauayan municipal police station, facing charges./PN
