BACOLOD City – A 60-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a cargo truck around 10:20 a.m. on Saturday on the national road in Sitio Siag, Barangay Maytubig, Isabela town, Negros Occidental.
Joel Arija Solanoy, 60, of Hacienda Moning in the barangay, sustained head and body injuries. He was rushed to Ignacio Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital in the town but was declared dead on arrival.
Police Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan said the victim was crossing the road when he was hit by the rear tire of an Isuzu Cargo truck with plate number CAJ-657.
Driver Giojaniel Pantajo Nardo, 30, of Barangay Inolingan in Moises Padilla is currently detained at Isabela police custodial jail./PN
