ILOILO – A 60-year-old woman was hit by a pickup truck in Barangay Bolong Oeste, Santa Barbara town on Sunday night, April 23.
Marilou Suplido, a resident of the said place, was declared “dead on arrival” at the Western Visayas Sanitarium and General Hospital.
“Samtang nagatabok ang victim sa dalan, nabungguan siya sang pickup kag fatal body injuries gid ang naagum. Gindala pa siya sa hospital but declared ‘dead on arrival’”, said Police Major Jose Rey Pabalan, chief of the Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station (MPS).
The pickup truck was driven by Nikhel Nowlakha, 18, a resident of Barangay Ayaman, Cabatuan.
Nowlakha surrendered to the Santa Barbara MPS.
“Ari diri sa amon talatapan ang driver kag ready na kami to file a case against him,” added Pabalan./PN
