ILOILO – Around 150 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,020,000 were seized from a senior high school (SHS) student during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Rumbang, Pototan town on Tuesday.
The suspect, Lance Florida, 21, was a resident of the town’s Rizal Street.
Florida was placed under surveillance for nearly two months before the operation was conducted by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) and Pototan Municipal Police Office (MPS).
According to Florida, he was asked by an uncle to be a “runner”.
Police said the recovered illegal drugs may have come from Mindanao because of its washed brown color.
Florida is now under the custody of the Pototan MPS. He faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
