ILOILO City – A senior citizen introducing herself as a real estate broker was arrested through an entrapment operation in Jaro district on Wednesday night, Nov. 16.
Marilou Torres, 62, was a resident of Barangay Sooc, Arevalo district.
She was arrested after a Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) – Iloilo City personnel pretended to be a buyer who, for a down payment of P10,000 to the suspect, could get a land property.
Police Major R. Gwardaya, head of CIDG – Iloilo City, said there were complaints against Torres for allegedly selling land properties without proper documentation.
More than 30 individuals complained, Gwardaya added.
The suspect refused to comment on the allegation. She is currently in the custody of the Jaro police station./PN
