ILOILO – A 70-year-old man voluntarily surrendered to the police after allegedly hacking a 49-year-old neighbor to death in Barangay Binaliuan Mayor, Tigbauan, Iloilo, on Wednesday afternoon, February 25.
Roberto Caniban went to the Tigbauan Municipal Police Station with his wife to report the incident.
According to Police Captain Alfred Mansoy, Tigbauan’s police chief, the couple arrived at the station at around 7 p.m. to inform authorities about what had happened. Caniban was immediately taken into custody.
Meanwhile, the victim identified as Wilfredo Giraldo was found lifeless inside his hut.
Police said he succumbed to fatal hack wounds./PN
