STAYING true to its moniker as the “City of Love”, sex is indeed alive and kicking here. Or shall I dare say “humping” in “I Am Iloilo City”?
For starters, the natives in this lovely city by the bay have more sex per se than the rest of the natives in the whole archipelago and by that, we mean Iloniggos enjoy sex more often than the rest of the country.
And before you start staring in disbelief and wonder…”am I missing something here”, I have facts to back that claim. Here are excerpts from the Nov. 19, 2019 issue of Panay News:
Ilonggos have best sex life – survey
Ilonggos have the best sex life among Visayans and have a better one compared to the rest of the country, the 2019 PhilCare Wellness Index revealed.
Of the 75 respondents surveyed, 46 indicated being sexually active.
Iloilo City respondents said they had a “good” sex life, scoring 2.70 on the Wellness Index scale compared to those in Bacolod City (2.84), Cebu City (3.11), Tagbilaran City (3.02), and even most other Filipinos (2.74) who said theirs was only “somewhat good.”
Questions about sex life, along with stress, vices and health practices, were part of the study commissioned by PhilCare, a leading health maintenance organization (HMO).
Lead researcher and University of the Philippines associate professor Dr. Fernando Paragas said the PhilCare Wellness Index, which measured the perceived health and wellness of Filipinos, was composed of six wellness domains, namely psychological, physical, medical, nutritional, financial, and lifestyle.
Ilonggos had more sex than the rest of the country, saying they do it twice a week, higher than the nationwide and Visayas average of at least once a week. Bacolodnons and Tagbilaranons also indicated having sex twice weekly.
There were a total of 1,350 respondents from 22 key cities and towns nationwide aged 18-90 who were interviewed for the study. Of the total sample size, 300 respondents came from the Visayas, 75 of which were from Iloilo.
The respondents were asked to rate themselves from a seven-point scale, with the score of one as “very good”, two as “good”, three as “somewhat good”, four as “neither good nor bad”, five as “somewhat bad”, six as “bad”, and seven as “very bad.”
Yes indeed the natives of “I Am Iloilo City” have “leveled up” (pun intended); they not only do it twice a week on the average which is higher than the national average but they also have the best sex life compared to the rest of the country.
Well, I am not surprised. Ilonggos are not only known nationally but internationally as well to be malambing, why even that pure unadulterated Ilonggo accent is considered to be one of the sexiest accents in the world and the sexiest in the country.
And being malambing is to be tender, and tenderness has always been associated with sensuality…“sighs and whispers quiet laughter in the air unspoken invitations everywhere”.
“I Am Iloilo City” is really the best place to be now. Everything in the city is sexy, from the festivals to the cuisine. Dinagyangand Paraw Regatta have always have that earthy and sensual ambiance while batchoy and pancit molo are considered by many connoisseurs as aphrodisiacs before sex and to rejuvenate the spent libido after.
This is the only city where a certain coffee shop very popular amongst coffee shops habituates has a very popular pastry called “Better Than Sex” or BTS. A personal favourite of Moi, too, it goes well with Café Americano.
Now whether the pastry is indeed better than sex, here’s what a lady barista has to say. “Close but not quite.” And that’s good enough.
An Englishman friend who visited “I Am Iloilo City” and keeps coming back once told me while sipping Café Americano paired with “BTS” – of course watching lovely Ilonggassashay by – “You know, I find it quite sexy the restored heritage buildings in Calle Real down in Iloilo Viejo.”
I agree with him knowing there’s nothing kinky in that comment. It was rather artistic, and art (not tasteless vandalism) is always sexy, as those restored heritage buildings and museums in Calle Real evokes memories of a genteel and romantic life in Iloilo Viejo.
On top of all that (again pun intended) where else would you rather be but in a place where the natives speak with a sexy accent, have the best sex life and do it more times than the rest of the country? And that is “I Am Iloilo City”. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
