ILOILO City – In July, a 23-year-old drug suspect in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo surrendered to the police.
Nelson Buenavides of Barangay Poblacion Ilawod claimed he was a drug user. After he was photographed and fingerprinted, he was released because no illegal drugs were recovered from him.
After two months, however, Buenavides was arrested for peddling shabu.
The suspect was caught selling a sachet of shabu to an undercover police officer yesterday in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod.
Around 1 a.m. he was detained at the police station of Barotac Nuevo.
Police said Buenavides was No. 7 in its list of suspected drug personalities.
Cops recovered from the suspect a total of six shabu sachets.
As of this writing, the police were preparing the complaint against Buenavides for illegal drug possession and peddling./PN
