BORACAY — Police seized sachets of suspected shabu allegedly sourced from Iloilo province during an anti-drug operation here.
The operation also led to the arrest of Leumar Espinosa, 23, of Brgy. Infante, Molo, Iloilo City, and Moises Granole, 21, of Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
Operatives of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group and the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center staged the buy-bust in Sitio Bantud, Brgy. Manoc-manoc here on Thursday evening.
A poseur buyer bought from the suspects a sachet of shabu for P1,000.
Police further recovered nine sachets of shabu from Espinosa and five sachets from Granole.
Espinosa allegedly sourced his supply of illegal drugs from Iloilo, police said.
Granole, on the other hand, was involved in theft cases in the island, said the police.
Both were temporarily staying in a boarding house in Sitio Bantud, Brgy. Manoc-manoc.
Police recovered from their boarding house identification cards, passports and credit cards.
Both suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center.
They were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
