‘Shabu’ worth P204T seized from 2 men

BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu worth some P204,000 was recovered in a drug entrapment operation at New Boulevard in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The suspected illegal drugs that weighed about 17 grams contained in five plastic sachets were confiscated from two drug suspects around 12:35 p.m. on Sunday, a police report showed.

The 25-year-old Russel Gonzales of Ylagan Extension, Barangay 5, San Carlos City was the target of the sting operation.

He was arrested along with Barangay 6 resident John Rey Garnica – also 25 – after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.

Aside from the suspected drugs, drug paraphernalia, P800 cash and two wallets were confiscated from the suspects, the report stated.

Gonzales and Garnica were detained at the San Carlos City police station lockup facility.

They will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
