‘Shabu’ worth P240T seized in Bacolod

BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu valued at around P240,000 was recovered in an antidrug operation in Purok Lison, Barangay 1, police said.

The suspected illegal drugs weighing about 20 grams contained in 32 plastic sachets were confiscated from suspects Ronis Algaroba and Noel Jason, a police report showed.

Algaroba and Jason were arrested after they sold suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer for P1,000 around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, the report added.

Officers from Police Station 2 staged the sting operation.

Aside from the suspected drugs, a .38-caliber revolver and a .22-caliber gun were also recovered from the suspects.

Algaroba and Jason were detained in the lockup cell of Police Station 2.

They were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.)/PN
