‘Shabu’ worth P340T seized in Silay City

BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu worth some P340,000 was recovered at a subdivision in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.

The suspected illegal drugs contained in 10 plastic sachets were seized from the house of the 28-year-old Melvin “Por” Pancho, the report added.

Drug paraphernalia were also confiscated from Pancho’s possession.

Pancho is a high-value drug target, according to the Silay City police.

He was arrested around 8 a.m. on Thursday after joint elements of the City Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit searched his house and found the suspected drugs.

The house raid was conducted on the strength of a search warrant issued by Judge Ana Celeste Bernad of the Regional Trial Court Branch 69 in Silay City.

Pancho was detained in the lockup cell of the Silay City police statio, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
