BACOLOD City – Shabu valued at an estimated P50,000 was seized from a man in a sting operation in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2.

The operation that joint elements from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6 and Police Station 2 staged led to the arrest of the 29-year-old resident Alfred “Jan-jan” Diaz.

Diaz was caught after he sold shabu to an undercover officer for P500 around 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, a police report showed.

Recovered from Diaz were two sachets of shabu, P1,000 cash and an improvised tooter.

According to the police, Diaz conspired with the 30-year-old Richville Espinosa of Talisay City, Negros Occidental in selling prohibited drugs.

But Espinosa evaded arrest, police said.

Diaz was detained at the Police Station 2 lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
