MANILA – Shiela Guo revealed that she and her siblings dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo and Wesley Guo rode several boats to escape from the Philippines.
During a Senate hearing on Tuesday, Shiela said they were fetched by a van in their farm in Tarlac and travelled southbound from dinner time to midnight before they transferred on boats.
“Galing kami sa bahay. Tapos may sundo sa aming sasakyan, van. Hindi ko alam san lugar, siguro byahe kami nang ilang oras. Hindi ko matandaan, matagal din. Halos tapos ng dinner. Hatinggabi,” Shiela said.
She added: “Sakay kami ng boat sa dagat po. Hindi ko alam ‘yung lugar kung saan kami sumakay ng boat.”
However, Sheila said she was not familiar of the location where they rode a small white boat, which can only cater to around 10 people, before moving to a bigger boat, a fishing boat.
After riding what seemed to be a fishing ship, Sheila said they transferred again to a smaller boat, which brought them to Malaysia.
“Siguro hatinggabi kami sakay tapos halos umaga na,” Shiela said. “May palit pa isa ulit. ‘Yung maliit naman na parang kulay blue o green.”
Asked where is Alice and Wesley, Shiela said she was unaware of their whereabouts as they have already gone separate ways in Indonesia.
Shiela and Cassandra Li Ong, who is being linked to an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Porac, Pampanga, were arrested in Indonesia last week and were immediately sent back to the Philippines.
The Senate panel, chaired by Sen. Risa Hontiveros, was investigating how Guo fled the Philippines last month amid her mounting legal raps in relation to her alleged links to POGOs./PN
