ILOILO City – An altercation led to a shooting in Barangay Dungon C, Mandurriao district.
Armando Juanico, a resident of the village, sustained a gunshot wound on the stomach, a police report showed.
He was rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center where he was currently undergoing treatment.
The shooting happened past 12 midnight on Saturday. Police identified the suspect as Carlos Brinatico, also a resident of Barangay Dungon C.
According to investigation, Juanico and his brother were having a drinking binge when Britanico and his friend passed by.
A heated argument then ensued between Britanico and Juanico, the report stated. It was not immediately clear what caused the altercation.
Police said Britanico used a .45-caliber pistol in shooting Juanico. Three empty shells were recovered from the crime scene.
Officers of the Mandurriao police station were still hunting Britanico as of this writing./PN
