ILOILO City – The city government issued a show-cause order to Rockwell Cockpit Arena in Barangay Don Esteban, Lapuz here for allegedly operating despite the suspension of cockfighting activities.
Mayor Jerry Treñas said the advisory suspending all cockfighting activities and cockfight operations was also sent to all cockpit coliseums in this southern city.

The said bulang was allegedly held Tuesday night until early morning yesterday.
Cockfighting and cockpit operations have been suspended from March 20 until April 4 in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
The suspension is based on the advisory issued by the Department of Trade and Industry and Resolution No. 9-2020 issued by the national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) following the surge in coronavirus cases.
Treñas likewise issued the same advisory following the pronouncements of the national IATF./PN
