
SIBALOM, Antique – This municipality recorded 12 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) between April 8 and 9. Eleven of them were healthcare frontliners.
“The increase in active cases is due to the mass testing conducted by the Provincial Health Office to all its medical staff and personnel province-wide,” said Vice Mayor Zoilo Bernardo Tubianosa.
The 12 cases were the following:
* 34-year-old female, symptomatic, facility quarantined
* 24-year-old male, symptomatic, home quarantine
* 23-year-old female, asymptomatic, home quarantine
* 33-year-old female, symptomatic, facility quarantine
* 33-year-old female, symptomatic, facility quarantine
* 41-year-old female, asymptomatic, home quarantine
* 31-year-old female, home quarantine
* 34-year-old male, symptomatic, home quarantine
* 30-year-old female, symptomatic, home quarantine
* 55-year-old, female, symptomatic, facility quarantine
* 45-year-old female, symptomatic, facility quarantine
* 52-year male, symptomatic, admitted in hospital facility
Tubianosa, currently the officer-in-charge of the Office of the Mayor, ordered a massive contact tracing.
“All barangays with positive cases were already informed and advised through their Punong Barangay and Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) to work closely with the Municipal Health Office in implementing necessary health protocols,” according to Tubianosa.
He also ordered them to “intensify information campaign and limit the movement of people within the barangay to avoid spreading the virus.”
Tubianosa stressed the importance of wearing facemask and face shield in public, physical distancing and proper hand disinfection./PN
