SIBALOM, Antique – The municipal government here ordered the temporary closure of the town hall. An official tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The closure will be for two days – May 3 to 4.
Mayor Gian Carlo Occeña also ordered the tracing of the patient’s close contacts.
A number of employees “were exposed as primary and secondary layers of one of the appointive officials positive for COVID-19,” he revealed.
“There shall be a suspension of work on May 3-4,” Occeña added.
In line with the town hall’s shutdown, he also ordered the following:
* Department heads and office-in-charge are requested to assist in the contact tracing for both primary and secondary layers, and report them to the Municipal Health Office or Municipal Tracing Team.
* The Disinfection Team of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management shall continue the thorough disinfection of offices inside and outside the municipal hall for the duration of the suspension of work.
* All department Heads and office-in-charge are requested to open and secure their respective offices during the disinfection and cover their important documents/papers and equipment such as desktop computers to avoid damage.
* After the disinfection, windows and doors of the offices shall be opened to provide adequate “airing”.
* The personnel of the Municipal Health Office, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Tourism Center and the Nutriskwela Radyo Kaabyan may report on skeletal force as responders and sources of information.
The municipal hall will reopen on May 5.
As of May 3, Sibalom’s COVID-19 cases rose to 93. But with 69 cases having recovered and three who died, the town’s active cases were down to 21./PN
