ILOILO City – Two siblings yielded about P1.2 million worth of suspected shabu in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Salvacion, Habog-Habog, Molo district.

Girlie Macarse alias “Inday”, 31, and Noel Macarse, 33, both temporarily living in the aforementioned barangay, were residents of Barangay MH Del Pilar, Jaro district.

Classified as high-value suspects, the two were arrested on Nov. 25 after a police poseur buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu from Girlie worth P17,000.

Eighteen more sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 185 grams and valued at P1,285,000 were confiscated from the Macarse siblings.

Police Lieutenant Glen Soliman, team leader of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6, said Girlie was imprisoned in 2013 for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and was released in 2019 through a plea bargaining agreement.

The Macarse siblings, now detained at the Molo police station, face illegal drug charges./PN
