Sigma man yields homemade shotgun

CAPIZ – A 55-year-old man was arrested in a raid in Barangay Bangonbangon, Sigma town for possessing an unlicensed firearm.

Alias “Junior,” a resident of the said place, was taken to the Sigma Municipal Police Station (MPS) following the seizure of a homemade 12 gauge shotgun and three rounds of ammunition around 5:10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8.

Joint operatives of the Sigma MPS, Capiz Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Team, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, and 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company carried out the operation.

The search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) was issued by Hon. Rommel L. Leonor, acting executive judge of the 6th Judicial Region, Branch 21 in Mambusao town, dated May 7, 2024.

The suspect was detained at the custodial facility of Sigma MPS./PN
