BACOLOD City – A 400-square meter children’s playground was turned over to the local government of Silay City, Negros Occidental yesterday.

Located at the city’s public plaza, the “Hampangan” – a local term literally meaning “playground” – includes play equipment and a section for Pinoy games and a storytelling area.

It is a corporate social responsibility project of the Super Lucky Beagler, Inc. (SLBI), which is based in Silay City.

SLBI is the sole authorized agent corporation of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Negros Occidental.

The company has been implementing corporate social responsibility programs with PCSO in the province since 2010.

The facility was turned over to the local government after Silay City mayor Mark Golez and SLBI director Dino Jalandoni signed a memorandum of agreement.

Jalandoni said the play equipment, imported from Denmark, are environment-friendly, nontoxic, and will not fade, crack or corrode.

Golez, meanwhile, thanked everyone who made the project possible. He believes the facility will give Silay City children a safe place to play and develop self-confidence.

PCSO chairman Jose Jorge Corpuz witnessed the agreement signing./PN
