BACOLOD City – His son found him dead inside a fish cage floating at sea in Barangay Lantad, Silay City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
The 56-year-old fisherman Renato Aquino, a resident of the village, was pronounced “dead on arrival” at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City by attending physician Dr. Romnel Sentinar at around 8:36 a.m. on Sunday.
Aquino’s son Reniel, 25, discovered his body around 12:30 a.m. on the same day.
According to investigators, Aquino left their house to go fishing around 9 p.m. the previous day. He was not able to go home since then.
