BACOLOD City – They were carried by the river current and drowned, a police report showed.
The 57-year-old Giorgina Pesante of Talisay City, Negros Occidental and 53-year-old Reynaldo Oredina of E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental were rescued and rushed to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
But the attending physicians pronounced them “dead on arrival,” police said.
Pesante and Oredina were swimming at a river in Barangay Kapitan Ramon, Silay City with their relatives around 3 p.m. on Saturday when the incident happened, the report stated./PN
