The strong Spanish Honor Division Club Team Championship – Spain’s answer to the Schachbundesliga of Germany – ended Sept. 29 with a victory for the team C.A. Silla-Bosch Serinsys.
Eight teams competed in the event which was held in the RL Anibal Hotel in Linares, Spain. The teams, according to their rankings based on Elo average, are C.A.C. Beniaján Duochess, led by GM David Navara; C.A. Silla-Bosch Serinsys, led by GM Anton Korobov; C.A. Andreu Paterna, led by GM Francisco Vallejo Pons; C.A. Magic Extremadura, led by GM Ivan Cheparinov; C.A. Jaime Casas, led by GM Yuriy Kryvoruchko; C.A. Solvay, led by GM Niclas Huschenbeth; Gros Xake Taldea, led by GM Etienne Bacrot; and C.A. Collado Villalba, led by GM Renier Vazquez. The tournament is a classical competition with a time format of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment per move.
COVID-19 protocols were observed during the event (face masks, face shields, social distancing).
