BACOLOD City – The city government of Sipalay in Negros Occidental revealed having been victimized by fake food orders and hotel reservations.

On Wednesday, March 16, several resorts and restaurants operating in Sipalay claimed that unidentified people claiming they were officials of the city government ordered food and beverages and made hotel reservations.

The city government cautioned resorts and other establishments in the city not to entertain such orders or bookings right away but instead verify first with the city hall.

Take note of the contact details of those placing orders or making reservations, it added.

Sipalay City, 175 kilometers south of Bacolod City, is known for its tourist destinations. An example of it is the now-defunct Maricalum Mining Corporation which happens to be one of the largest mining companies in the country. It now has a park dedicated for viewing the whole mine from atop.

It also boasts beautiful pristine beaches, being a seaside city. Foreign and local tourists flock the beaches the whole year round for not only for swimming but for diving as well./PN
