BACOLOD City – A man was stabbed dead in Barangay Nabulao, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
Resident Riche Palacios sustained a stab wound on the chest, a police report showed.
According to investigation, resident Raymund Canete was sitting outside his house when Palacios assaulted him on Sunday.
This prompted Canete to retaliate by stabbing Palacios using a 6-inch kitchen knife, the report stated.
Police said Canete and Palacios had an altercation prior to the incident.
Palacios was brought to the Eleuterio Decena Memorial Hospital in Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
Canete was detained in the Sipalay City police station’s custodial facility.
