SJI, La Salle, STI bag Puma Se7ens titles

FOOTBALL squads from Negros Occidental shone during the 2018 Puma Se7ens Cup at the Sta. Maria Football Field in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

St. John’s Institute – Bacolod won the U-11 event, beating Himamaylan FC, and the U-15 girls by defeating University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Rams A in the finals.

Ceres-La Salle teams also bagged two titles – the U-19 men’s at the expense of the UNO-R, and the men’s where it’s Team A defeated its Team B.

La Salle Integrated School claimed the U-9 trophy by beating the SJI while Villa Angela selection ruled the U-13 category by ousting the UNO-R Rams.

Around 42 teams participated in 10 categories of the event on Aug. 26.

STI – West Negros University captured the U-15 boys trophy at the expense of Sagay City FC while Bacolod United FC ruled the U-17 boys when it stunned the STI-WNU squad.

Living Stones International School claimed the women’s open trophy, defeating Sagay City FC, while the STI-WNU Alumni Carvi FC edged Real Negrense FC for the men’s 35-Up title./PN
