SK chairman, village councilman shot dead

ILOILO City – A village councilman and a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman were shot to death in Barangay Mayang, Tubungan, Iloilo on June 20.

Thirty-three-year-old Harold Tablazon was a kagawad of Barangay Ago, Tubungan while 24-year-old Glen Bunda was the SK chairman of Barangay Tagpuan, Tubungan.

Their bodies with multiple gunshot wounds were found along the road at around 6:30 p.m.

According to Police Lieutenant Jose Romel Samson, Tubungan police chief, policemen recovered from the crime scene 32 spent bullet shells of a .9mm pistol and six spent bullet shells of a .45 pistol.

“Based on the empty shells recovered, at least two persons killed the victims. Two different firearms were used,” Samson said.

As this was being written, the Tubungan police station had not named any suspects yet.

The spot where the bodies were found was far from houses.

The two victims were working at Sun Solar Installer as panel installers in La Paz, Iloilo City.

Samson said Bunda had a criminal case while Tablazon was facing criminal case for illegal possession of unlicensed firearm.

The police raided Tablazon’s house last December 2019 and found a .45 pistol.

“We could not yet determine the motive behind the killings. No witness has so far surfaced,” said Samson./PN
