ILOILO – A man alleged to have fallen asleep while driving crashed into two oncoming motorcycles in Barangay Santa Rosa-Laguna, Guimbal town at around 9 a.m. yesterday, Feb. 5.
The Suzuki Ertiga driver, Mike Ian Perez, 20, a resident of Barangay Luna Kapalong, Davao Del Norte, is being held by the Guimbal municipal police.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Jovan Pastrana, one was seriously injured while the other sustained minor injuries. Both were on their way home when the incident happened.
Efren Genalua, 36, of Barangay Santa Rosa-Laguna, broke his spinal column when he hit his back on the car’s windshield.
He will be transferred to a hospital in Iloilo City, said Pastrana.
Meanwhile, Christian Inojado, 23, from Barangay Pescadores, Guimbal, sustained scratches and bruises on his hands and feet./PN
