ILOILO City – A high-value drug pushing suspect was arrested in Barangay Tabucan, Dumangas, Iloilo.
Joey Dumasis, 46, was detained at the Dumangas police station following the buy-bust operation at his house.
His younger brother, George, 44, however, managed to flee.
An undercover policeman transacted with the brothers for a sachet of shabu worth P500 around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Dumasis brothers operated in Dumangas and northern Iloilo towns, said Senior Inspector Charlie Sustento, Dumangas police chief.
Aside from the sachet of shabu that an undercover policeman bought from Joey Dumasis, cops recovered five more plastic sachets of shabu and a pack of dried marijuana leaves from the suspect.
“He was selling not only shabu but marijuana, too, and his house was being used as a drug den,” said Sustento.
The cops were able to recover drug paraphernalia from the house, Sustento told Panay News.
The suspect told the Dumangas police he got the marijuana from Benguet and shabu from Mindanao.
Dumangas’ Mayor Rolando Distura earlier admitted that all of his town’s 42 villages were affected by illegal drugs./PN
