SM City Bacolod honored the elderly through a bazaar.
The three-day celebration on Sept. 5-7 was the mall’s celebration of the nationwide activity in all SM malls across the country, SM Public Relations manager May Castro said.
There were four elderly organizations here that joined the activity: SM senior citizen staff, Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs, Zonta Club of Bacolod and the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of Bacolod.
The bazaar sold different food cooked and baked by the elders, as well as souvenirs and fruits.
Castro said the elderly were given the chance to sell their products inside the mall without them paying the rent.
“This is the first time the mall organized this kind of event,” Castro said.
“In December, we will have the great love caroling for the senior citizens, and other activities that our senior citizens may enjoy,” Castro said. “The welfare of the elderly is one of the advocacies of SM as we love our senior citizens.”
