I STILL HAVEN’T done the American transcontinental road trip so that would be what I’d do if I could just drop everything, and went.
I’ve lived on both coasts — California (west) and Maryland (east), but I’ve always flown when I travel across the country.
Next to that North American road trip would be the South American continent exploration from Colombia down to Argentina.
But I need to go with a driver, who must also be a good lover.
I don’t want to drive long distances alone.

My family — my mother and siblings’ stupidity, often makes me angrier than I should.
I know they aren’t as brilliant as I, but I still have high expectations of them.
I don’t want them to act ignorantly.
I expect them to perform better than other people.
My mother, and one uncle, for example, are both gamblers.
I honestly can tolerate my uncle, and may even justify his gambling, but I can’t forgive my mom for burning money that we don’t have.
I let other people post the most stupid things on social media, but I always pick a fight with one of my sisters for her broken English, and showy posts.
I always call her, and call her out, and of course, she would just scream expletives at me for not minding my own business.

I’ve never used drugs, period.
After my husband died, a few of my boy toys introduced me to marijuana.
I don’t like it.
Marijuana gives me a headache.
But I did a few puffs to get laid.
Would I do it again to get laid?
You bet!

I always try to push my body further than I ever dreamed possible.
I did polar bear plunges in 2020.
I did 21 days of Beyonce diet — of lemon, cayenne pepper, water, and Grade B maple syrup, a few years back.
I ran a marathon in 2013.
I’m interested in yoga, but I have some crazy reservations about starting it.
I’ve already bought follow-along DVDs and yoga mats, and they’ve been lying there in my basement for two years now.
But knowing me, I might overcome my reservations soon just so I could push my body further.

If I had $5,000 I must spend now, I would immediately go to Machu Picchu in Southern Peru.
It’s still on my bucket list.
I’m thinking of doing it in style, like a three-day hike going up there.
I would prefer to do it with a boy friend, but if $5,000 wouldn’t cover the two of us, I’ll go alone.

I’d be writing a lot of fiction if social media didn’t exist.
I still have a lot of control over my social media engagement.
But as a 21stcentury author, I think it would be a mistake if I don’t play the social media game.
Right now, I enjoy certain popularity in the Philippines because students and teachers think that I am the most accessible of the 21stcentury Filipino writers.
I’m paying the price by being almost glued to my iPhone.
But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
In this century, a writer with a strong online presence has the biggest relevance.
Would I give up social media in favor of a boyfriend?
Most likely not.
But it would be selfish for the presumptive boyfriend to ask me to choose. (500tinaga@gmail.com/PN)
