BACOLOD City – A soldier who had been absent without leave (AWOL) was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay To-oy, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
The 34-year-old Leonil Tejada of Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City was nabbed around
5:20 p.m. on Sunday, a police report showed.
Police seized from him suspected illegal drugs valued at around P2,500, a black Huawei cellular phone and drug paraphernalia.
Tejada allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P500, the report added.
Four more sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from him.
The suspect was detained in the lockup cell of the Himamaylan City police station.
He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
