BACOLOD City – A man allegedly hacked his father in Purok Kulo, Barangay Bulanon, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
The 65-year-old Victor Relos sustained hack wounds on the body, a police report showed.
He was rushed to the Alfredo Marañon District Hospital in Barangay Bato, Sagay City for treatment.
Police identified the suspect as Relos’ 35-year-old son Bernardo.
According to the investigation, the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session to celebrate the latter’s birthday around 3:30 p.m. on June 17.
Bernardo later provoked trouble when he dared his father to a fistfight. A commotion followed.
Bernardo hacked his father with a sugarcane cutter as their neighbors tried to pacify them, police said.
Officers of the Sagay City police station have yet to arrest Bernardo, who fled after the hacking./PN
