SOUTH Korean actress Song Hye-kyo celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, Nov. 22. She turned 42 years old (Korean age).
Hye-kyo penned a message on her social media on her natal day.
In her post, she extended her gratitude to all who remembered her birthday.
“Thank you for all the birthday wishes. All the flowers and gifts you sent me are beautiful,” she said.
The actress remarked that she is full of happiness because of the unwavering support and love of her fans.
“I am spending a very healthy and happy day today thanks to the unchanging love and trust my lovely fans give me. I hope you always stay healthy and happy!” she said.
Celebrity friends and fans of the actress were quick to comment on Hye-kyo’s birthday post.
“Joyeux anniversaire. All the best wishes and love,” artist Julien d’Ys commented.
“Happy happy birthday to my sister (English translation),” Korean singer Yura wrote.
Hye-kyo made her acting debut in the Korean series “First Love” in 1996. She then starred in several drama projects after that.
In 2000, she rose to global prominence after starring in the series “Autumn in My Heart”. She starred alongside Song Seung-heon and Won Bin. The series contributed to the Korean Wave in Asia.
Other projects of Hye-kyo include “Full House”, “That Winter, the Wind Blows”, “Descendants of the Sun”, and “Encounter”.
The actress is set to star in the upcoming South Korean series “The Glory” alongside Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon, and Jung Sung-il.
Despite acting for a long time already, Hye-kyo admitted that she still gets nervous whenever she has a new acting project.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in February, she confessed, “I’ve never entered a production with the mindset of, ‘You’ve always done this, so you can do well.’ Now, I’ve been acting for a long time. Nevertheless, I’m always nervous. Not only am I getting older, but the characters are also getting older like me.”
She added, “The characters must have matured as they got older, and there must have been joys and sorrows in their lives up to that point. I think I have to express that well. That’s why I think acting is getting harder and harder.” (PUSH)
